| The phone rings and wakes Tom, he thinks it’s Cass, it’s not, it’s Gabba. Gabba’s an old friend who can’t take no for an answer, he asks for Tom’s help in stealing a car. Tom did some stupid things when he was younger with Gabba but he doesn’t want to do this. To avoid an argument Tom tells Gabba he will think it over and to ring him back. Tom’s been drinking and starts to consider Gabba’s possibility realistically, he makes a coffee and tries to paint but he knows Gabba is waiting for an answer, before temptation gets the better of him he lays on his bed to sleep. |

| He is awakened to his surprise by the personification of Fate; they have a chat, discussing theories of fate and destiny. The first Fate Clotho briefly appears and smiles while spinning wool on a drop spindle. Near the end of the conversation Fate preaching from the end of the bed like a pulpit, giving Tom a glimpse at how perhaps the universe works. |

| In the middle of Fate and Tom’s conversation the phone rings distracting Tom, he looks back and he is alone in his room, his nose is bleeding slightly. Tom shrugs off fate as a weird dream and agrees to help steal the car, he figures he has nothing to lose. |

Tom and Gabba have broken into a car and are trying to start it, when suddenly the driver returns, they both split up. Tom tries to run down the stairs but an old bag lady is in the way blocking his path - the bag lady is Atropos the fate responsible for cutting life, she stops him going down. Tom runs back up and meets another strange figure, Lachesis, who whispers ‘how long is a piece of string’ Tom is left confused. The owner of the car reaches the top of the car park & starts shouting at Tom, by now feels he has no other option calmly steps over the barrier and………. Just lets go. |

| From a scream to complete silence and Tom sitting on his bed, his nose is bleeding slightly and the phone ringing. It's Gabba he asks if Tom wants to steal a car, Tom laughs says no thanks and hangs up. He picks up the phone again and calls Cassandra and arranges to meet up. |

| Cassandra is
waiting for Tom in the street, he’s late. She starts to walk into the road
when [we see Fate appear and tap her on the shoulder] she turns round to
see nothing and narrowly misses getting hit by a car. She thanks her lucky
stars, smiles and walks across the street, when she gets hit by another
car, Fate just stands there looking on.
