Tom is in his twenties, down on his luck, an aspiring artist. He has recently split from his long-term girlfriend who threw him out, this is why he finds himself in the bedsit. He is average height, average build and average looking. Splitting with Cassandra has sent him on a bit of a bender; an empty vodka bottle and masses of scrawled artwork are proof of this. |
| Gabba is an old friend who rings Tom. He is a wide boy, Jack the lad, always in the thick of it, he means no harm. Gabba and Tom grew up together and Gabba never seemed to grow out of the childish criminal behaviour, but seemed instead to grow into it. Gabba may not be the brightest spark in the box but he is by no means stupid. |

Cassandra is Tom’s ex-girlfriend she loves him but he slept with someone else and betrayed her, so she sees no other option but to throw him out. She is a strong individual and shares Tom’s passion for creativity, they met at University she was studying sculpture. Cassandra in myth had the knowledge of forewarning but no-one believed her [JOKE - she should have seen it coming] |
| Fate is the personification of fate, He has been Fate before time began and he grows tired of his job and the humans he meets who never seem to learn. He is a showman of sorts teaching us the ways of the universe. He hangs in the shadows watching from a distance with little emotion, perhaps his immortality has hardened his soul to our suffering. |

Clotho spins the thread of life, she is the youngest of all the Fates, but the most mature. She takes pride in her job and enjoys making the thread; she understands her role in the order of things. Perhaps as Clotho is the giver of life her role is more rewarding. |
| Lachesis measures the length of the thread of life, she is the most childish of the Fates and cares not for her role in the order of the universe, her destiny has been chosen and she feels cheated. She constantly moans and complains, wishing to swap roles with others. |

Atropos cuts the thread of life, she is as bad as Lachesis but at least she understands her role and if she is honest she enjoys snipping at the threads, ending the lives of the mortals. She has a massive collection of threads, which she has fashioned into a shawl, a morbid garment or trophy. |
